Williams Pinball: Judge Dredd is the latest table to join Pinball FX and Pinball FX Midnight from Zen Studios on PlayStation 5. As its name suggests, this pinball table is based on the British comic strip Judge Dredd from 2000 AD. No, it’s not based on the movie, since the Sylvester Stallone film was not released until a couple of years after this pinball table hit arcades.

Pinball FX Midnight – formerly known as Pinball M – is Zen Studio’s pinball platform for Rated M for Mature pinball experiences. If you haven’t had a chance to play a table in Pinball FX Midnight, then you should definitely check out our Pinball M review on PlayStation 5 so that you can get a better idea of what you’re about to jump into.
This release is based on the original 1993 Judge Dredd pinball table from Bally, which is an interesting part of pinball history since it’s the only pinball table from Bally that included an extra mode known as Super Game. The Super Game mode was more expensive – two credits instead of one for the normal mode – but every ball starts with a two-ball multiball and a drain shield that can save your ball over a short period of time. If you hit the set of five JUDGE targets, you will get a six-ball super multiball.

Williams Pinball: Judge Dredd pinball is a fast-paced table in which you’ll be working on racking up a ton of points by activating the different chain modes. Pursuit will have Judge Dredd in pursuit of a stolen vehicle, with the police lights bars above the left and right lamps starting to flash, so that you can hit those ramps to make Dredd shoot a missile on the dot matrix display.
Blackout will activate a blackout in Mega-City One, doubling all major scores during its two-ball multiball time trial, during which you can aim at the center ramp when lit to claim 10 million! Sniper will activate a countdown while a sniper is looking for potential victims from its tower on the dot matrix display, so you’ll have to shoot the sniper tower ball popper to score the hurry-up value, and then hit it again before the falling sniper hits the ground so that you can get the value again.

Battle Tank will have a large mechanical tank attack on the dot matrix, which you’ll have to destroy by shooting the BATTLE TANK shots that are marked with green lamps, located on the left lane, center ramp, as well as the right target bank. Bad Impersonator will show a guy dancing on a stage on the dot matrix display, and you’ll be able to throw objects at the guy by hitting the lit JUDGE drop targets, with two of them being lit at a time.
Meltdown has the nuclear reactors about to blow up in an animation on the dot matrix, so you’ll have to keep this from happening by hitting the captive balls hard, so that you can land a triple hit that can stabilize the three reactors. Safecracker has a guy sleeping on a safe on the dot matrix display. You must wake him up by shooting the subway entrance four times. There are some other modes, but you’re going to have to play this pinball table to find out what they are!

Want to lock balls? Then you will need to light up the JUDGE drop targets to light LOCK on the left ramp. While the planet ring is rotating, you can lock balls with left ramp shots… but this will only be a virtual lock! You’ll get the ball back unless it’s the 3rd lock, in which case you’ll get 3 more balls that will activate the multiball.
Since this is a 3D recreation of the original table, you can play with the original presentation, just like you remember it, or you can add some 3D elements, extra effects, and some extra art on the left and right sides of the inside of the pinball table. The 3D elements will add a Death Badge in the lower-right corner of the table, a deadly metal trap, Dredd and his motorcycle, and more.
Are we getting some new Pinball FX Midnight trophies to go alongside the new Williams Pinball: Judge Dredd table? You bet! This table is part of the Additional Tables #9 DLC trophy list, which also includes extra trophies for the Pinball FX Midnight versions of the Williams Pinball: Scared Stiff table as well as the Williams Pinball: Elvira and the Party Monsters pinball table.

As for the specific trophies related to the Williams Pinball: Judge Dredd pinball table? There’s a trio of trophies for you to add to your collection. The three objectives to complete are entering the Deadworld, the home of the Dark Judges, sentencing at least 5 criminals on the Crime Scenes, and completing at least 5 chain modes.
