Dark Reflection from Stamina Zero and Slay Buherman is a Rated M for Mature 2D adventure game set between two mirrored but different worlds. After your best friend suddenly vanishes, you must use a trash metal to perform a secret ritual to gain access to the Dark Reflection, a warped copy of the world you know. While locations might seem familiar, they’re certainly very, very dangerous! Those you might trust back in the real world might be evil here, so you’ll have to pay attention and tread lightly… or else! You’ll need to search each area to locate the items needed for your survival, as well as for solving the puzzles that you’ll run into. And if all else fails, you’ll need to fight to the death to carry on with your mission.

Dark Reflection Review - 1

Your name is Dennis, and your missing friend is Max. You both play together in an amateur band and love trash metal. On top of that, you live next door to each other. Your weekend started with an early call from Max, who shares a dream about your band playing a concert full of half-naked groupies dancing around you, with demons and skeletons cheering you from the crowd. That’s not what the call is about. Max has found a rare album at a rather sketchy stall from a band called Morgue Epilepsy, and it seems to have a ritual for opening a portal. As expected, this is what leads to Max vanishing, forcing you to open the portal to find him within the Dark Reflection.

Once the intro story cutscene ends, you’ll be taking control of Dennis by using the left analog stick or the D-Pad, as you interact with objects, points of interest, and other characters by pressing the X button or by pressing up on the left analog stick or the D-Pad. Any useful items that you find will be added to your inventory at the bottom of the screen, which you can review by pressing the Triangle button.

From there, you can press the L1 and R1 buttons to cycle between your items. Once you have the one you want to use, you can press the X button. Since, as mentioned before, you might run into trouble that can’t be dealt with without a bit of extra violence, you’ll be able to attack enemies – and bosses! – by pressing the Square button. You know, as long as you have a weapon on you!

Trophy-wise, this one features a full trophy list with a Platinum trophy for you to work on adding to your collection. And since it’s a Cross-Buy release, you’ll be able to download the PS4 and PS5 versions of the game to your PlayStation 5 console at no extra cost, and each version will have its own trophy list with a shiny Platinum trophy waiting for you. Each list will be split into 2 Bronze trophies, 4 Silver trophies, and 10 Gold trophies.

What will you need to do in order to get that Platinum trophy? Along with the trophy you’ll get for entering the Dark Reflection world, there are trophies for defeating bosses, finding a secret room, dying a specific way, completing some objectives that I won’t be spoiling here, as well as getting all of the different endings. If you need some extra help, you can check out this Dark Reflection Trophy Guide.
