MXGP 26 – The Official Game from NACON and Artefacts Studio brings us the latest entry in the series to PlayStation 5. We’re getting a chance to dive into the world of MXGP – that would be the Motocross Grand Prix – by playing as your favorite riders, using 16 officially licensed bikes as you ride over 19 official tracks from the MXGP and MX2 classes of the FIM Motocross World Championship. You’ll be racing around in Portugal, Argentina, Australia, Latvia, Germany, Turkey, China, South Africa, Italy, and other locations, as you try to prove to everyone how good you really are while racing on bikes from Yamaha, Beta, Fantic, Kawasaki, and more. There are even partners like Arai, Fox, Monster Energy, and Pirelli, to name a few, that are represented here in the gear and banners you’ll see.

This time around, the series is also making the jump to Unreal Engine 5, which means we’re getting a revamped presentation with improved textures, lighting, and environmental details, reworked bike physics, reworked weather conditions, adaptive rider animations, persistent ruts that reshape the track over time, as well as the option of enabling or disabling Assist Mode based on your preferences.
The game offers different options for your racing needs. There’s Time Attack, which requires you to complete a lap as quickly as possible. Go up against the world in Online Multiplayer to go for the #1 spot. Take on the Grand Prix for the MXGP or MX2 classes. Or you can get into the Championship Mode, which will allow you to take on the full season of races.

Once you’re ready to race, you’ll be using the left analog stick to steer your bike as you accelerate by pressing and holding down the R2 button, and hit the brakes by pressing the L2 button as needed. You can press up or down on the D-Pad to switch the camera view. You’ll feel your motorcycle go, as well as each jump and landing, thanks to the haptic feedback from the DualSense controller.
You’ll be awarded badges and tickets during your time with MXGP 26 – The Official Game. Badges will mark special and important milestones reached during your career. Tickets will allow you to purchase more gear by visiting the workshop and trading them for new items.

And now, let’s talk about the trophies! As is to be expected of a retail release like this one, we’re getting a full trophy list with a Platinum trophy for you to work on. The list is split into 11 Bronze trophies, 9 Silver trophies, and 6 Gold trophies. What will you need to do for that shiny Platinum trophy? Some of the objectives to complete include earning your first Time Attack gold badge, winning a race on the expert difficulty setting, winning a race on all tracks, winning your first championship, completing a full weekend GP, winning a race with a lead of one second or less, taking your first snapshot in Photo Mode, and crossing the finish line while falling off your bike, to name some examples.
