Panzer Knights: Commander’s Edition from PQube and Joy Brick will have you commanding a German panzer platoon through the chaos of World War II. It’s a third-person experience in which you’ll need to make the most of the different types of ammo at your disposal so that you can target the weak points of your enemies as you adapt to the changing situation of the front line. Your journey will begin on the day that you manage to graduate from the Welmarcht Panzertruppenschule. Everything you’ve learned as an officer aspirant has prepared you for this moment.
The first tank that you’ll command is the Panzer 38(t) that was captured from Czech forces, a unit that is comparable to the German Panzer III. Since the game is played from a third-person perspective, you’ll control your tank with the left analog stick as you use the right analog stick to move the camera around you as needed. Fire your weapon with the R2 button. When the gun is loaded, it will turn green. If it’s not, it will show up as red. You also need to pay attention to the gunner’s crosshair so that it lines up with yours and it targets what you want it to hit.

You can lock the turret by pressing in and holding down the left analog stick. Use your scope with the L2 button. While you’re aiming with the scope, you’ll be able to zoom in and out with the R1 and L1 buttons, respectively. Different targets will require different types of ammo to reach over longer distances and deal damage through stronger armor. Press left on the D-Pad for armor-piercing shells (AP). Press up on the D-Pad for armor-piercing composite rigid shells (APCR). Pressing right on the D-Pad selects high-explosive shells (HE).
You can call in artillery support to aid you in combat by pressing the Square button. This will bring up your mini-map, from where you’ll be able to mark the designated area for the attack. You’ll be able to spot this choice from a distance thanks to the column of red smoke that will pop up after you call in artillery support.
If you need some extra stuff, you can call in a supply drop by pressing the Triangle button. This is how you’ll be able to resupply during longer missions. Once again, when you decide to call in a supply drop, your mini-map will open up so that you can decide where the supplies should be dropped for you to collect them.

Press the X button to use a smoke screen to try to confuse and outsmart your opponents. This will temporarily conceal your position from enemies. The smoke screen pellets will be deployed from your turret, and it will only take a couple of seconds for it to take effect. Press down on the D-Pad to change the formation of your tanks to better support your current strategy.
How will you be able to tell apart friends from foes? Enemies will have a red inverted triangle marking them, while allies will have a green inverted triangle over them. Has your tank suffered too much damage? It might be a good idea to call for repairs by pressing and holding down the Circle button. Damage to your vehicle could have an impact on, say, its tracks, which will leave you as a sitting duck, unable to move to protect yourself. If a critical component – such as an engine or the hull – suffers major damage, then the mission will be failed.

While working on repairs, the vehicle will need to remain motionless while the countdown timer runs out. The good news? As long as the turret is still operational, you’ll be able to attack your opponents while repairs take place. Who knows, you might just get the best shot possible while the vehicle is being repaired and turn the tide of battle!
You will need to work hard on assembling the best tank crew possible by reviewing and picking from the available recruits. Take into consideration their skills and abilities, so that you can find the right combination of recruits to help you succeed in each mission. There are 30 potential recruits ready to aid you, so you’ll certainly find a group that best suits your playing style and needs.

Trophy-wise, this one features a full trophy list with a Platinum trophy for you to add to your collection. The list is split into 20 Bronze trophies, 7 Silver trophies, and 6 Gold trophies for you to work on. What will you need to do for that shiny Platinum trophy? Along with the trophies that will pop as you complete the missions that the game will throw at you, some of the objectives include upgrading skills 10 times, recruiting 5 crew members, unlocking 5 camouflages, unlocking 2 tanks, destroying 10 enemy tanks, and unlocking 5 memoirs, to name some examples.
