GluMe from eastasiasoft and Solluco is a colorful sliding puzzler in which you take control of a slime. You’ll be merging the main slime with other slimes in the 80 levels that the game has to offer, as you move over top-down grid-based stages where you must grab all gems to progress to the next level. The slimes you can glue yourself to will be sleeping, and they will be a grey hue that is hard to miss. Each level will have one right order for you to use to collect all gems in one go. On top of that, there’s a set number of moves for each level that will allow you to get a Perfect rating on it. And if you pay attention, you might even find a secret here and there as well!

I previously had a chance to review Ratyrinth on PlayStation 5 from this publisher and indie dev combo. Ratyrinth was a minimalist 2-tone 2D precision platformer with a rodent for a protagonist. I also reviewed Dagger Froggy, a colorful, top-down survival-style game on PS5. Those two games are certainly very different from this puzzler, so I was definitely up for checking out this new game.
The controls are simple and to the point. You’ll be taking control of your slime by using the left analog stick or the D-Pad, as you move through each level one square at a time. As you try to collect all gems to complete the level, you’ll be able to stick yourself to other slimes. This will make it possible to collect some gems that would otherwise be out of reach, such as, say, those that are located after a gap. If you made a mistake and glued yourself to the wrong slime or did so from the wrong side, you’ll be able to press the Triangle button to quickly reset the level.

The game features a full trophy list with a Platinum trophy for you to work on. And since this is a Cross-Buy title, you’ll be able to download the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 versions of the game to your PS5 console at no extra cost, and each one will have its own trophy list with a Platinum trophy. Each list will include 10 Bronze trophies, 6 Silver trophies, and 8 Gold trophies for you to work on. What will you need to do to add that shiny Platinum trophy to your collection?
Some of the objectives to complete include entering each of the worlds in which the levels are split, completing a level without having to merge with all of the other slimes, finding a small slime, finding all small slimes, completing 10 levels perfectly, completing all levels perfectly, falling into a hole 5 times, standing still for a whole minute, and locating the different hidden gems in the game, to name some examples.
