Traveling merchant adventure Cozy Caravan from 5 Lives Studios is now ready to go on Nintendo Switch. You’ll be embarking on an expedition with your customized character as you explore the open roads on your caravan. You won’t be doing this on your own and will be joined by your best buddy, Bubba, as you set up mobile markets while traveling from city to city. This release uses mini-games for its crafting segments, which you’ll be using to produce the wares that you’ll be trading with the locals.
You and Bubba are Guild Rookies and will be working hard to prove yourselves to show the veterans that you have what it takes to make it. You’ll be cooking one moment and crafting clothes the next, hoping to draw as many clients as possible. In this world full of anthropomorphic animals, bringing happiness to others is key.

Everyone is preparing for the big Whizz Bang Fair, but their plans aren’t going as they expected! Help as many people as possible along the way, and be sure to also find some free time for you to unwind and relax. What will you do during your time traveling through Harvestvale? After landing on Steam Early Access back in 2024, Cozy Caravan is now ready for its 1.0 full release on Nintendo’s console.
As mentioned before, the first step on this new journey will be to create your character. You’ll first be choosing between the 12 available animal species: raccoon, red panda, cow, fox, badger, beaver, axolotl, goat, and otter. Once you’ve settled on one, you’ll be picking its color from 4 different options, an outfit from the 40 options, as well as a voice from the 9 options. Pick your character’s name… and you’ll be set!

Once your adventure starts, you’ll be taking control of your character by using the left analog stick to move through each area. Interact with objects or other characters by pressing the A button. This button can also be used for jumping. You can drop an item you’re currently carrying by pressing the B button. Wave at others by pressing the Y button. Sort out your backpack by using the R button, so that you can move items around. You can press the + button to open up your map, so that you can get a better look at the current area.
Press the X button to enter the caravan, and press the B button to exit the caravan as needed. When driving, you will use the left analog stick to steer the caravan. You will be able to accelerate by pressing the ZR button, and you can go in reverse by pressing the ZL button. Oh, and you can open Photomode by pressing the L button so that you can capture special images during your time with Cozy Caravan.

To open the market so that you can trade your wares, all you’ll need to do is ring the bell. Once that’s taken care of, you’ll need to check your inventory to grab the items that you want to put up for sale. Once a customer has selected an item, they will walk toward the cash register so that you can complete the sale. Sometimes a customer will be looking for a particular item, and it will be up to you to make sure that you can provide what is required.
Be sure to check your recipe book so that you can see what you can craft for your potential customers. You’ll start with some simple recipes, such as chopped tomato, chopped lettuce, and chopped carrots, which will open the way for new recipes for you to work on completing. Say you want to make a carrot cake. You’re going to need some chopped carrots as well as cake mix, so that you can place everything in the oven. Some delicious mashed potatoes can certainly hit the spot, and you’ll need chopped potatoes and a bit of butter.

Your relationships with others are important in the world of Cozy Caravan. Waving at someone and saying hi can make them happy. Providing a customer with the item they need will also grant you a happiness boost. If you manage to spread enough happiness, the Guild will reward you with tokens. You can then use tokens to upgrade your caravan! Just be sure to visit Guild Representative Arthur at the Guild Hall in Basslebrook when you want to check out some of these upgrades.
Traveling merchant adventure Cozy Caravan will have you embarking on an expedition with your customized character as you explore the open roads on your caravan. This release uses mini-games for its crafting segments, which you’ll be using to produce the wares that you’ll be trading with the locals.
The game offers an interesting artistic choice in that characters are animated in what could be described as a bit of a choppy framerate, which is an intentional decision. This was done to make the characters seem as if they were created in stop motion, which is a good juxtaposition with the smooth backgrounds and areas that you’ll be exploring. It’s something that certainly adds to the game’s charm.

There are some accessibility options at your disposal for customizing your experience. These include, for example, activating auto craft, enabling or disabling typing text, reducing wet sounds, enabling or disabling the guided recipe arrow, enabling or disabling hopscotch help, or enabling or disabling rumble. Cozy Caravan is out on Nintendo Switch with a $19.99 price tag.
