Too Many Santas! from Penguin Pop Games and Oh, a Rock! Studios is a new visual novel is a short holiday-themed visual novel now on PlayStation 5. Sandy is working alone in her store during Christmas week, with not a single customer in sight. After spotting a bright star in the daytime sky, she wishes for more customers and perhaps even love. Almost instantly, six Santa Clauses walk into her shop, each introducing themselves with wildly different personalities.

From there, the game asks you to choose which Santa you want to spend time with. Each selection leads to a self-contained story that lasts between 15 and 25 minutes, depending on reading speed and choices. Every Santa has two possible endings, one good and one bad, encouraging multiple runs to see everything the game has to offer.

The writing is intentionally lighthearted and self-aware. The game never takes itself too seriously, and that works in its favor. The Sexy Santa route in particular stands out as playful and entertaining, fully leaning into the absurdity of the premise. Overall, the stories aim more for charm and humor than emotional depth, and they generally succeed within that scope.

Presentation

Visually, Too Many Santas! uses real photographs for its characters, presented in a variety of poses, alongside real-world shopping mall backgrounds. While the presentation is serviceable, image quality can appear slightly soft. Even on a 1080p screen, characters looked a bit blurry, though this remains more of a nitpick than a serious issue given the game’s tone and scope. The background music and sound design do their job without drawing much attention to themselves. Nothing here stands out as memorable, but it supports the festive atmosphere well enough.

Length, Replay Value, and Trophies

Each route is very short, but the game’s structure encourages replaying all six Santa stories to see both of their endings. This repetition is closely tied to the trophy list. As expected from a visual novel release, trophies are extremely straightforward. Unlocking all stories and endings is enough to earn the Platinum, and with a guide, this can be done in just a few minutes. The game supports Cross-Buy between the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 versions. The trophy list is split into 2 Silver trophies and 11 Gold trophies.

For trophy hunters, this is a quick and painless Platinum that requires minimal effort and as little as 10 minutes. You can follow this Too Many Santas! Trophy Guide to help you get through the optimal route as efficiently as possible.
