Nicktoons and The Dice of Destiny from GameMill Entertainment and Petit Fabrik brings us a fantash-themed action RPG that mashes up several Nickelodeon characters – and their worlds – on Nintendo Switch. You’ll have to run, dash, and slash through hordes of enemies out to get you as you pick your hero from beloved characters such as SpongeBob SquarePants, Leonardo from the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Katara from Avatar: The Last Airbender, Timmy Turner from The Fairly Oddparents, Sandy Cheeks from SpongeBob SquarePants, Susie Carmichael from Rugrats, Danny Phantom from, well Danny Phantom, Jenny Wakeman from My Life as a Teenage Robot, and Jimmy Neutron from The Adventures of Jimmy Neutron, Boy Genius.
There are some fun goodies in this Nicktoons and The Dice of Destiny Collector’s Edition that play into the overall Dungeons and Dragons experience from which the game draws its inspiration. After all, each of the characters in the game will have a specific class for you to consider. Timmy Turner is going to be a wizard, Sandy Cheeks is a barbarian, Leonardo is a Samurai, and SpongeBob SquarePants is a powerful knight! And now, let’s get going with this unboxing!
Once you remove the outer cover for the Nicktoons and The Dice of Destiny Collector’s Edition, you’ll be greeted by a pair of compartments. As you can see below, one of them will have a physical copy of Nicktoons and The Dice of Destiny, while the other one will contain most of the extra items you’ll be getting with your purchase.
Along with the physical cartridge, you’ll also get a code for the Wardrobe of Wonder Pack DLC. As I mentioned in our Nicktoons and The Dice of Destiny review, you can get the Wardrobe of Wonder Pack DLC, which is available with a $14.99 price tag, and this will unlock an additional costume for each of the playable heroes, for a total of 9 extra costumes. And no, you won’t be able to redeem the code. That’s what that colorful piece of paper is for.
Once you remove everything from the second tray, you’ll notice six different items that elevate this release into Collector’s Edition territory.
First up, we have a sticker sheet that focuses on four main characters in particular: SpongeBob SquarePants, Katara, Timmy Turner, and Leonardo. Each of these characters is getting three stickers. There are also some stickers for their respective weapons, as well as additional stickers for Gary, Aang, and Cosmo and Wanda, from SpongeBob SquarePants, Avatar: The Last Airbender, and The Fairly Oddparents, respectively.
Next up are a custom dice set and a travel pouch with the game’s name. If you look closely at the dice, you might notice that two of them feature some special designs. Can you spot them?
The custom dice set and the travel pouch can be put to good use with the included wooden dice tray with storage compartment, featuring SpongeBob SquarePants in all of his knightly glory.
On top of all of the aforementioned items, there’s a small double-sided poster that features the map of the lands that you’ll be exploring, as well as a colorful set of images featuring some of the characters that you’ll meet during your journey.
The last thing you’ll be checking out is the pack with the nine collectible hero trading cards that you can see below, presenting each of the characters you’ll be able to play as, along with the icons for the special abilities you’ll unlock for each one as you defeat enemies and bosses and level up.
As you can see, the Nicktoons and The Dice of Destiny Collector’s Edition from our friends at GameMill Entertainment is a great option for those of you who are ready to dive into an action RPG featuring many of the most beloved characters from the Nickelodeon universe while also getting a bunch of awesome goodies that celebrate the different inspirations for this particular release.
