EdEN got a chance to review Kaiju Big Battel: Fighto Fantasy, a 16-bit-styled old-school-inspired RPG from nguin Electric Airship and Super Walrus Games.
Here’s an excerpt of our review:
There’s turn-based combat, a large cast of characters, an SNES presentation, and a funny bone, thanks to it being an officially licensed game based on the live-action monster wrestling group Kaiju Big Battel. Think WWE if the wrestlers were larger-than-life monsters that pay homage to monsters such as Godzilla and Gamera and characters like Ultraman with a dose of Lucha Libre over-the-top action. Kaiju Big Battel got its start way back in 1994, and 20+ years later, we’re getting a console release of the RPG that uses Kaiju Big Battel while paying homage to the Final Fantasy series.
