Thrill Penguin from Ratalaika Games and Sylph is a fast-paced 2D platformer perfect for speedrunning. You’ll be taking control of an ambitious penguin who aims to become a parkour master. To be able to achieve this, you’ll need to run, jump, dive, climb, and slide your way to the finish line of the dozens of levels on offer. There are more than 50 levels to complete, with a difficulty that increases at a steady pace. And once you reach the end of an area, you’ll have to take on a big boss battle. Replay each level to try and improve your overall completion time, and you can get a bronze, silver, or gold medal for your efforts.
The controls for this one are simple and to the point so that you can easily focus on the action on the screen. You’ll control the penguin with the left analog stick or the D-Pad, jumping and wall jumping with the X button. Just be careful when you do this since you could find yourself landing on some rather sharp spikes! Press the Square button to perform a dive. This can be used to increase your speed while going down a slope or to slide over the roof during some of the trickier platforming segments. You can also press and hold down the Square button to climb over a wall.
Trophy-wise, this game has a full trophy list with a Platinum trophy for you to add to your collection. And since this is a Cross-Buy title, you’ll be able to download the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 versions of the game to your PS5 console, and each one will have its own trophy list for you to work on. Each list includes 11 Gold trophies. What will you need to do for that shiny Platinum? The objectives include completing a level, performing a climb, performing a ceiling slime, performing a deep dive, dying on any level, getting a medal on any level, getting a silver medal on any level, getting a gold medal on any level, and getting a medal on each level on stages 1, 2, and 3.
