Amelia’s Garden from RedDeerGames brings us another cozy and chill puzzle experience on Nintendo Switch. This game takes place a few years after Tell Me Your Story, and you’ll once again be taking on the role of the titular Amelia. One day, Amelia climbs up the stairs of her building and finds an old rooftop garden with many broken pots. Since there are also some tools and seeds lying around, she decides it is time to fix them and bring the garden back to its former glory. There’s plenty of potential on this rooftop, and it’s up to you to help Amelia!

Amelia's Garden Review - 1

There are 20 broken pots for you to fix, and each one will be able to house a unique plant. All the pots will present you with a puzzle, and once you put them back together, you’ll fill each one with dirt, plant a seed, and water it to see the plant grow. Once each plant grows, you’ll be able to find the right person to gift them to, earning you some hearts to show you how good of a match you’ve managed to make. Some people love this or that plant and don’t want anything else, so be sure to pay attention!

Once you’re ready to go, you’ll be able to play by using either the Nintendo Switch Joy-Con or by making the most of the console’s touchscreen when playing in Portable or Tabletop Mode or if you’re taking this game for a spin on a Nintendo Switch Lite. If using physical inputs, you’ll move a cursor around the screen with the left analog stick as you interact by pressing the A button. You can rotate pieces by using the L and R buttons as you try to find the right way for them to fit in each pot.

Once you’ve fixed a pot, you’ll have to use a trowel to shovel enough dirt to fill it up. The next step will be to grab a packet of seeds and shake it over and over again so that enough seeds end up inside the dirt. The larger the pot, the more seeds you will need! You’ll then have to water the seeds so that they start to receive the nutrients they so desperately need. After watering a plant, press the buttons shown on the screen to help it grow by bringing the sun to it. Be careful not to overdo it, or you’ll break the pot! Oh, and don’t forget to harvest each plant so that you have something to give to the people in your life.
