Universal Pinball: TV Classics is ready to give you three tables for Pinball FX on PlayStation 5. This time around, Zen Studios is giving us pinball tables based on the beloved Xena: Warrior Princess Pinball, Knight Rider, and Battle Star Galactica TV series, so there’s bound to be something for everyone in this trio of new pinball tables for Pinball FX. Xena: Warrior Princess was first broadcast back in 1995 and ran for 6 seasons up until the year 2001. Knight Rider is the oldest one from the bunch since it first aired from 1982 to 1986. The Battlestar Galactica TV series the table in this pack is based on is the one that ran from 2004 to 2009, which is why it’s probably the version you’re most familiar with.

In Xena: Warrior Princess Pinball, there’s a good variety of modes to play during your time with this table. You’ll activate Gabriele’s Journey by shooting the square of the village 3 times from each direction. You must visit all lanes with Gabrielle while defeating the marauders who are attacking the village. Joxer the Mighty is activated by visiting the tavern 3 times to meet with Joxer. After that, you must shoot the ramps 2 times each after removing the bandit targets blocking your access. Ares – God of War is activated by shooting the middle target to turn the moving Chakram on. Go through it 3 times to get started. Since the main entrance to the temple is blocked by a magic wall, you must shoot it from behind to deactivate it. Shoot the ion crystal bumpers to stop the ritual before it’s too late!

Caesar – Roman Assault will have you going up against a large group of Roman guards that you must hit before the timer runs out. Alti – Vision of Pain is another mode that you will activate by shooting the left orbit 4 times in order to find Alti. You must then defeat her by shooting her target a few times while avoiding the haunting vision, which will end up teleporting the ball to another spot. Callisto – Revenge is activated by shooting each ramp 3 times. To defeat Callisto, you must move around the ladder by shooting the miniloops while you avoid hitting the middle target, since this can make Xena loses her balance. There’s also a special mini playfield that is activated by shooting the right orbit 4 times. This will take you to the cave, where you must shoot the light and dark Chakra an equal number of times to create a Balanced Chakram.

Then we have the Knight Rider Pinball table based on the classic TV series from the 1980s. The missions you’ll get to play in this pinball table are activated by aiming for the K.I.T.T. spinner toy to light up the main mission, and then hitting the left sinkhole on the jump ramp to get started. All you need to do next is hit the flashing main lights to complete your objective. You’ll be taking on Goliath, playing Trust Doesn’t Rust, taking on Goliath Returns, and even having a K.I.T.T. vs K.A.R.R. battle. If you’re unfamiliar with K.A.R.R., it’s an evil version of K.I.T.T., programmed for self-preservation by any means necessary. You can take on K.A.R.R. by hitting the upper sinkhole a few times.

If you want to start Scanner Mode, you’ll have to hit the right orbit several times. Once that’s been taken care of, you’ll need to hit the SCAN lights around the table to complete the mode as more and more SCAN lanes light up. By completing the S.P.M. targets, you can start Super Pursuit Mode. By hitting the gas pedal and the S.P.M. targets, you’ll get a chance to really boost your score. Shoot the spinner target, and you’ll eventually activate Auto Cruise. While Auto Cruise is active, the table will play automatically, and you can move a crosshair with the flippers to suggest where the action should go. If you complete the center TURBO BOOST targets, you’ll activate Turbo Mode, allowing you to send the ball flying over the jump ramp for a big bump to your score.

The last one in the set is Battlestar Galactica Pinball. The modes you can play will certainly send you back to when you watched the series during its original run. For Home, you’ll need to shoot the FTL targets to light up all letters. Once that’s taken care of, you can shoot the spinner to position the Galactica into the right position so you can then shoot the ball into the hole behind the FTL, so that you can eventually reach New Earth. 33 asks that you shoot the DRA and DIS targets until all letters are lit. After entering the mini playing field, you’ll have to shoot at the incoming Cylons with your turret.

Valley of Darkness is activated by shooting the left ramp 4 times. Shoot the CMC targets to prepare Colonial Marines for battle against the Centurion. Exodus will be activated by shooting the middle ramp 4 times, triggering a multiball. Shoot the loops as often as possible to launch Raptors and rescue civilians. If you shoot the mini-loop, you’ll launch Vipers and boost your score. Crossroads will begin when you shoot the FIVE rollovers and light all letters. By shooting the loop, you’ll search for the Final Five Cylons as you race against time. Will you manage to complete all missions and finally find Earth?

Unlike some of the previous pinball tables and pinball packs for Pinball FX, Universal Pinball: TV Classics is part of the platform’s Additional Tables #1 DLC trophy list. Thanks to this, you’ll be able to work on adding one trophy to your collection for each of the tables in this triple pack. The trophy for Xena: Warrior Princess Pinball is Balanced Chakram, and you will be required to convert the ball into the Balanced Chakram. The trophy for Knight Rider has that name, and you must complete all missions on the Knight Rider Pinball table. The last trophy is Daybreak, for which you’ll need to complete the Wizard Mode on the Battlestar Galactica Pinball table.

Universal Pinball: TV Classics - Review 6
Universal Pinball: TV Classics brings us three tables for Pinball FX based on beloved TV series Xena: Warrior Princess, Knight Rider, and Battle Star Galactica. If I had to pick one of the three as my favorite table, that would be Knight Rider since it has a nice flow in general. Oh, and each table will allow you to work on adding a new trophy to your collection as well! Universal Pinball: TV Classics is available for Pinball FX at a $14.99 asking price.
