It’s time to give it your all as you guide your football team to try and become the Super League Champions. Zen Studios is bringing back a pinball table that was originally released for Zen Pinball 2 back in 2014. It’s now 2024, and with Pinball FX being the main platform from Zen Studios on PlayStation 5, Super League Football Pinball has been revamped for you to take it for a spin… including trophy support!

Super League Football Pinball Review - 1

Each season consists of 5 home games and 5 away games. You’ll be trying to win as many matches as possible in order to be crowned as the Super League champions. With this being football, that means that each of the aforementioned games will consist of two halves, and, as expected, winning requires that you score more goals than your opponents. But… what happens if a match ends up in a draw? Then you’ll have to try and win in a penalty shoot-out! How will you manage to score goals?

You’ll need to complete passes at the lanes, ramps, and the trick sinkhole to boost the pass meter at the bottom of the pinball table. The pass meter sorta acts like the table’s combo meter, and you need to work on keeping it as full as possible at all times. If the pass meter is depleted, the other team will gain possession of the ball, and you’ll be at risk of your opponents scoring a goal. What’s the fastest way to boost the pass meter to score a goal? Activating the multiball so that you can combo your way to victory!

You’ll go into attack mode by lighting both lamps at the inlanes. And yes, there’s definitely a mini-playfield on the pinball table where you can use your skills to score a goal or two! You’ll notice that the diverters to the mini-playfield will open up when attack mode is engaged. This is your cue to hit the cross or longball ramps to send the ball into that special playing area. Once there, you must use your skills to score a goal that could be the one that wins the match! Penalties will also be taken here, which means you’ll need to defend by using the flippers to move the goalkeeper.

Be careful when the ball enters the outlanes since the opposition has gained possession of the ball. You’ll have a chance to tackle an opponent by using the smaller flippers to try and win the ball back and put it into play. If you don’t manage to do this and the ball exits the table, then that means the opposing team will score a goal. To compensate for this, you’ll have to work on activating Wizard Mode for the pinball table by lighting up all portraits in the middle of the table so that you can then activate it by scoring a goal. How high of an overall score can you get?

Super League Football Pinball Review - 3

Unlike some of the previous pinball tables and pinball packs for Pinball FX, Super League Football Pinball is part of the Additional Tables #2 DLC trophy list. Thanks to this, there’s one trophy for you to work on as you play this table. The trophy is Gooden Boot, and to make it pop, you’ll need to score 10 goals in a single match on this pinball table. You can check which tables provide additional trophies to your collection by keeping an eye out for the trophy icon on your table collection.

Super League Football Pinball has you trying to score a ton of goals so that you can win as many games as possible to be crowned as the Super League champion. You’ll have to go through a season with 5 home games and 5 away games try to boost your pass meter, and keep possession of the ball for as long as possible so that you can hopefully score the game-winning goal. Super League Football Pinball is available for Pinball FX with a $2.99 price tag. There’s also the option of taking this table for a spin as part of the Pinball FX Pinball Pass, either with a 30-day monthly pass for 150 Pinball Coins – which retails for $14.99 – or with a one-year pass for 1,200 Pinball Coins – which retails for $99.99. The Pinball Pass will also give you access to dozens of other tables, so it’s certainly great value if you’re a pinball fan.
