Feardemic has brought the popular Garten of Banban game from Euphoric Brothers to PS5. Is it worth your time and money? The game got its start on Steam at the beginning of 2023 and was followed by several sequels. The first four games have now made their way to PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5, so it’s time to take the first game for a spin on Sony’s current-gen console. Given the game’s target demographic, my son joined me for this bite-sized first-person horror game.

The premise for the game is that you’re a father searching for his lost daughter. This is why you’re at the Banban Kindergarten. This was once the go-to kindergarten to which all parents wanted to send their kids. Unfortunately, one day, everyone started to disappear! As you explore the location, you’ll begin to notice the colorful mascots painted on the walls and as mascots that seem to have a life of their own! They’re monsters now, and you must find a way to escape.

Since the game is played from a first-person perspective, you’ll control your character with the left analog stick as you look around you with the right analog stick. Pressing in on the left analog stick will allow you to sprint. The X button will be used to interact as you press switches and grab collectibles. The Triangle button will be for jumping. Once you obtain the drone and get some batteries for the controller, you can use it by pressing the R2 button.

Trophy-wise, this budget release, unfortunately, does not have a full trophy list with a Platinum trophy. The list is split into 2 Bronze trophies, 3 Silver trophies, and 2 Gold trophies for you to work on. The objectives to complete include collecting batteries, finding all of Opilia’s eggs, correctly choosing the colors of all characters, escaping from Opilia, reading all notes, If you need some extra help, you can check out this Garten of Banban Trophy Guide.

Garten of Banban is the first game in the beloved horror series, and it’s now made its way to PlayStation 5. As a father searching for his missing daughter, you’ll enter the Banban Kindergarten to try and find out why everyone has gone missing. This one is the shorter one in the series, which means it can be completed in 30 minutes or so, hence its budget price. Garten of Banban is available on PlayStation 5 at the low price of only $1.99. There’s also a PlayStation 4 version of the game available for the same price as a separate purchase.
