Welcome to ParadiZe from NACON and Eko Software is a different type of survival game in which you’ll have a zombie companion. Your journey begins as you make your way to the titular ParadiZe, a location that is supposed to be safe from the zombie apocalypse. ParadiZe was billed as the solution to the horde’s attack, thanks to their Zombie Guard technology that was to bring zombies under the control of the living. As expected, things did not go as planned. Because. Because reasons. It’s a game that mixes base building, action RPG, and survival elements for something that certainly feels different from the pack.

Welcome to ParadiZe Review - 1

Make it to ParadiZe, and the Warden will let you know what is needed to become one of the new inhabitants of the now rundown ParadiZe. To move in, you’ll need to have a Zombot under your command to protect you from danger. By opening your map by pressing down on the D-Pad, you’ll be able to add a beacon that will direct you to Bob, who can assist you with this predicament. Bin is the one who hacked ParqdiZe to bring the Zombot program back online. After he hands you the blueprints for a helmet control device, you’ll have to craft it from the scraps you collect and find a wild zombie to convert to your side.

Once you gain control of your character, you’ll move around with the left analog stick, interacting with the X button to collect resources and items. You can run by pressing and holding down the Circle button as needed. Since regular zombies are pretty much on the loose, you’ll have to attack them to stay alive. You can do this by pressing the R1 button for a quick attack or the R2 button for a heavy attack.

Once you have a Zombot under your command, you can aim it at an enemy with the right analog stick and order the Zombot to attack by pressing the L1 button. Your Zombot will also collect nearby resources and bring them to you so that you can use them to craft useful items. There are more things that your Zombot will be able to do once you unlock additional skills for it.

As you defeat enemies and complete objectives, you’ll be rewarded with experience points. Once you obtain enough experience points, you’ll level up, thus obtaining skill points that you can spend in the skill tree. The skill tree is split into hacking, combat, and survival sections. In the hacking section, you can get Mobile Hospital, which makes your Zombot use your bandages to heal you. Another one is Chain Hack, which will make your Zombot hack another Zombot who will follow and fight for them.

Under the combat section, there’s another bunch of skills to unlock. A useful one is Stealthy Shot, which will allow you to deal more damage to enemies who have not spotted you yet. By boosting the Backhander skill, you can increase the melee damage you deal with each hit. If you jump into the survival section, you can unlock the Beast skill, which increases your HP so that you can withstand more damage. Another option in the survival tab is the Nurse skill, which will boost the effectiveness of bandages and increase healing by 30%.

And now, it’s time to discuss the trophies! The game has a full trophy list with a Platinum trophy, with a list that has 41 Bronze trophies, 13 Silver trophies, and 3 Gold trophies for you to work on. There’s a lot to do in this one, so you’ll unlock trophies by completing each of the game’s chapters, as well as for getting the good and the bad endings. Along the way, you’ll also unlock trophies for discovering 5 points of interest, leveling up your character to level 5, killing 8 zombies in one go with an explosion, equipping a full set of armor, digging up 10 treasure chests, and fully upgrading the kitchen and the workshop.
