Dungeonoid 2 Awakening Review - 1

You’ll be choosing from one of four available Heroes of Light to take on the dark priest’s evil forces. Your options are the Sorcerer, the Priest, the Paladin, and the Amazon. Roy the Sorcerer uses powerful magic attacks to try and save the day, favoring a very useful special attack. Rin the Priest is the youngest one in the country. While not as powerful as Roy, he does have a magic barrier that can prove to be very useful when in danger and has good speed and a good special attack.

Arnold the Paladin was banished from his country for a crime he did not commit and is now eager to prove his worth by using his might to defeat any monster foolish enough to stand in his path. The last hero is Val the Amazon, who hails from Dehesa Forest. She might not be as strong as Arnold or have access to powerful spells like Roy, but she more than makes up for it with her speed and overall balanced stats.

You’ll control the paddle by moving it horizontally with the left analog stick or the D-Pad. You can speed up the ball by pressing the X button if needed. Once the attack bar is full, you can press the Square button to attack with a slash from the ball. If the mana bar is full, you can then press the Triangle button to activate a special power that will vary depending on what hero you choose for your adventure.

This wouldn’t be a brick breaker without some power-ups popping up when you destroy some of the bricks – and bushes, trees, and other stuff on the playing field. Do know that while most power-ups will aid you, some are not good for you! You’ll be good as long as you pay attention and avoid the black power-ups. What can you get to help you? A heart will allow you to recover one lie. The extend will increase the size of your paddle. Grab a mana power-up to add more to your mana pool.

Along with power-ups, you can also collect some items to aid you. Grab a coin to add 50 points to your score. Collect five blue coins to obtain a time gem. Grab yourself a gold key in order to be able to open a treasure chest. Obtain the magical chalice to boost your score by 500 points if caught with the paddle or 700 points if caught with the ball.

Something else to keep in mind is that you can locate Nacho’s shop during your journey to purchase additional items for your quest. These include a live potion to recover all your lost health or a lucky potion that will make all power-ups that show up are good power-ups. If you purchase a power potion, you can increase your strength for a short period of time. Buy a time potion, and you can increase the timer by 30 seconds.
