Murder Is Game Over from Ratalaika Games and HitherYon Games is a whodunit mystery on PlayStation. It’s a game that has been inspired by classic stories from author Agatha Christie, along with a bit of Scooby-Doo here and there for good measure. The story begins when controversial video game designer “Lord” Russell Gallant purchases an old castle in rural Vermont. After moving there with his family, things start to get creepy and weird.

He’s visited by a descendant of the original builder of the castle, who lets him know he should be careful since the castle has a deadly curse. If they don’t leave ASAP, tragedy will strike. As expected, Russell Gallant ignores this… and is soon found dead! A heavy gargoyle falls on top of him, crushing him in an instant. But how did the gargoyle fall? Was this planned by someone? Or was it actually the castle’s curse falling upon him? With eight suspects in the game, you’ll need to do some digging and find out the truth before tragedy strikes again!

As Detective Guy, you’ll have to talk to all suspects and search for items and clues that can aid your investigation. You’ll also be joined on this adventure by Cleo, your trusty canine companion. You’ll control Guy and Cleo with the left analog stick or the D-Pad, switching between them with the Square button. If you press and hold down the L2 and R2 buttons, you’ll be able to dash. You can interact with objects or characters by pressing the X button.

When controlling Detective Guy, you’ll be able to talk to suspects and other characters, such as Officer Adams, who will help you learn the basics before you start your investigation. When playing as Cleo, she’ll be able to sniff around and mark clues for you, which you can see thanks to the huge question mark that will pop over items and evidence. Oh, and she’ll definitely want you to find the 30 doggie bags hidden around the castle! As you talk to each suspect, you’ll get to ask for their alibi, as well as their theory about what happened to Russell Grant.

The game has a full trophy list with a Platinum trophy waiting for you. And since this one is a Cross-Buy title, if you own a PlayStation 5 console, you’ll be able to download both the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 versions of the game and each one will have its own Platinum trophy for you to work on. Each list has a single Silver trophy and 11 Gold trophies. Since there are 10 missable trophies, you might need some extra help, so you can check out this Murder is Game Over Trophy Guide.
