Gastro Force from Somepx, Fernando Araujo, and Ratalaika Games is an old-school style first-person shooter in which you must fight against a huge alien… from within! It’s the year 399X, and you’re the last soldier from the elite group known as Gastro Force, and must eliminate the gargantuan aliens from an eldritch nebula by attacking them from the inside! The war has been going on for a while, and your fellow comrades fell in battle while taking on the other humongous beasts. Thanks to this, there’s only one of them left for you to deal with. Are you ready?
You’ll move with the analog stick as you look around and aim with the right one. You can attack with the X button or the R2 button, and dash by pressing the Circle button. The Square button will be for interacting with objects so that you can, for example, push a box out of the way. You start off with a simple pipe as a melee weapon, but will soon get your hands on an additional arsenal. Once this happens, you’ll be able to quickly switch between weapons by pressing the L1 and R1 buttons as needed. Pressing the Triangle button will bring up your map.
Trophy-wise, since this one is from Ratalaika Games, that means you can expect to find a full trophy list with a Platinum trophy. On top of that, this is a Cross-Buy title. That means that if you own a PlayStation 5 console, you can download both the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 versions of the game, and each one will have its own trophy list. Each list is split into 2 Bronze trophies, a single Silver trophy, and 11 Gold trophies for you to work on. You’ll have to locate red, purple, and blue cards, grab yourself a pistol, a shotgun, a machine gun, and a rocket launcher, locate a hidden area in a level, destroy an explosive barrel, defeat an egg, destroy a worm, defeat a drone, destroy a big alien, and beat the first boss in the game.
Gastro Force is an old-school style first-person shooter in which you must fight against a huge alien that likes to swallow spaceships for lunch. It’s a by-the-numbers experience that ends up feeling too repetitive for its own good since it lacks more variety on enemies, level design, and its soundtrack. It’s a budget Cross-Buy release with a $6.99 price tag, so you’ll be able to download both the PS4 and PS5 versions of the game at no extra cost, and each version will have a full trophy list with a Platinum trophy waiting for you.
