Montgomery Fox is back with a new case to solve on PlayStation 5 with some hidden object action. Ocean Media is giving us a second game in the Montgomery Fox series on Sony’s console in which the titular character must use his hidden object expertise to solve the case at hand. This time around, it seems that the petty criminal known as Lazy Dog has taken the ballerinas from the theater, but something about the whole thing feels off for our Fox detective. Lazy Dog is not a murderer, so why would he say two of them are buried in a safe place that no one will find?
As was the case last time, in Montgomery Fox and the Case of the Missing Ballerinas, you’ll be moving a virtual cursor around the screen with the left analog stick or the right analog stick, depending on how fast you want to move the cursor. You’ll have to press the X button to grab the objects listed at the bottom of the screen so that you can complete a scene. And if you just can’t find what’s listed, you can make good use of the hint feature you can activate with the Square button as soon as the cooldown period has ended.
You can also mix things up with the mini-games included in Montgomery Fox and the Case of the Missing Ballerinas. The mini-games you’ll be working your way through are a ball mini-game, a colors mini-game, one in which a cop is chasing after a potential thief, one that has you completing a classic jigsaw puzzle, as well as one mini-game with a series of circles that you’ll have to rotate to complete the puzzle.
Montgomery Fox and the Case for the Diamond Necklace included 8 Bronze trophies, 3 Silver trophies, and 3 Gold trophies, and that’s also the case for Montgomery Fox and the Case of the Missing Ballerinas… so no, this hidden object game does not have a Platinum trophy. The list mimics that for Montgomery Fox and the Case for the Diamond Necklace, so you’ll have to complete a hidden objects scene in under 90, 180, and 300 seconds, grab all collectibles – which you will get by the time you finish the game – and play each of the mini-games at least once.
If you enjoyed Montgomery Fox and the Case for the Diamond Necklace, then you’ll have fun with Montgomery Fox and the Case of the Missing Ballerinas since it offers a very similar experience with a new story for its setup. You’ll start at the Ornate Opera House – the scene of the crime – and carry onward, visiting each new area as you look for all of the hidden objects so that you can add a new collectible to your collection in order to find the missing ballerinas and find out what is really going on. Montgomery Fox and the Case of the Missing Ballerinas is available on PlayStation 5 at a $14.99 price.
