Pupperazzi from Kitfox Games and Sundae Month is a colorful and cozy game in which you’re tasked with taking lots of pictures of dogs. As soon as you load up the game, you’ll be welcomed as the new titular Pupperazzi, who is tasked with taking lots of pics of the many dogs that the game has to offer. The first one to greet you is a charming sea dog who is eager to have someone who can photograph them.
Since the game is played from a first-person perspective, you’ll walk around with the left analog stick as you look around with the right one. Pressing in on the left analog stick allows you to sprint. The B button will be for jumping. You’ll aim your camera by pressing and holding down the ZL button. Once you’ve framed your shot, press the ZR button to capture it for posterity. Pressing the A button will allow you to crouch. This is sometimes needed to get a better shot of some dogs. Oh, and you can pet dogs by pressing the ZR button.
You can press the – button to open your journal. From there, you’ll get a good look at your photos so that you can save some to your favorites, recycle the ones that are just missing something, or post them to dogNET. There’s also the objectives tab, which will list the things you need to do. Since you just t started, you’ll need to take a good picture of the first dog that greeted you upon your arrival. Another thing to work on is getting 5 followers so that you can unlock shop access.
This is important because the shop will allow you to purchase a variety of items that will make your cozy adventure a lot of fun. Once you have those 5 followers, you can go ahead and click on the objective to complete it. After this is done, you’ll finally gain access to the many vending machines in Pupperazi. You can grab a stick or other entertaining items at no cost so that you can throw them at a dog to play with it, setting up a fun shot. You can also buy stuff for your camera.
Grab some film packs so that you can take pictures with different filters, or grab a new lens to change how your pictures look. Maybe a fisheye lens can do the trick? You’ll use Bonks for these purchases, which look like golden dog treats. The more photographs you take and upload to dogNET by following the requirements for specific shots, the more followers you will gain. You have a limited number of photos you can take depending on how much film you have, so you will certainly need to recycle some of the shots you’ve taken so that you can reuse that film.
Complete more objectives to gain access to new abilities. Remember how I mentioned you could pet dogs? This won’t be available right from the start, so you’ll first have to complete a handful of objectives to get it. You can also unlock a double jump, which will make exploration a lot easier. Soon you’ll also unlock the ability to rotate your camera to change how you capture images! You’ll need to be patient if you want to do a good job photographing all the dogs and gaining new followers by posting photos to dogNET. If you post too many photos in a single day, you will stop getting new followers and will actually receive some complaints about your spamming!
Complete all the objectives in an area, and you’ll be able to open up the menu and select to leave the area to visit somewhere else. Do know that if you leave, your photos will be lost unless they’re saved in the gallery. As you photograph more and more dogs, they will be added to your Puppypedia. There will be 58 entries in total when all is said and done, so you’ll learn more about the Border Collie, the Bichon Frise, or the Greyhound. There will also be additional entries for other stuff. Take a picture of a blinking dog for a special entry! The Puppypedia used to be packed with information, but someone accidentally deleted everything after being distracted by a ball.
Pupperazzi is a cozy and chill first-person experience in which you’ll take pictures of hundreds of dogs of all colors, shapes, and sizes. You’ll work on completing many objectives as you work on taking specific picture compositions to please your growing followers along the way. It’s a fun game that should take you around 4-5 hours to complete, which is the perfect length for this one. How many dogs will you meet as you play at home or on the go? Pupperazzi is out on Nintendo Switch at a $19.99 asking price.
