In visual novel 7 Days of Rose from Ratalaika Games and Cross Game Studio you’ll go on a summer family vacation in which you’ll meet someone very special. You’re an average 17-year-old who has yet to find something that can draw his interest, so going on a short weeklong vacation is just what he needs to try to unwind and relax for a bit. Michael is his name. As he starts to open up to the possibility of being someone else when he meets Rose, a quirky and intriguing girl who will end up taking all of his time over the next 7 days… hence the game’s title!

7 Days of Rose Review - 1

If you’re new to visual novels, they’re games that do their genre justice since they usually involve a lot of text to work your way through as you move from chapter to chapter learning more about the game’s characters and what makes them tick. Some of them feature voice acting – an expensive feature to implement – but that’s not going to be the case for 7 Days of Rose since it’s a bite-sized budget visual novel experience.

Trophy-wise, this one is from Ratalaika Games, which means you can expect to find a full trophy list with a Platinum trophy. Even though it offers three different endings, the trophy list is an easy one to complete since it’s a linear one that only requires you to complete the story a single time. The list includes 4 Bronze trophies and 11 Gold trophies, and they will pop at a steady pace as you work your way through 7 Days of Rose. Sure, you could check a 7 Days of Rose Trophy Guide, but it’s not really needed.

7 Days of Rose Review - 2

7 Days of Rose is a visual novel in which Michael will meet a peculiar girl during a weeklong summer vacation. The game has an extras section where you can check the CG images seen in the game, but it’s a short one with only 7 images in total – including those from the endings. Speaking of which, the game has three endings, which adds a bit of replay value into the mix. 7 Days of Rose is a by-the-numbers visual novel that is not going to be very appealing, and it’s out on PlayStation as a Cross-Buy title, so your purchase will give you both the PS4 and PS5 versions of the game for a budget price of only $4.99.
