We’ll be working on a review for Tunchek, so I got in touch with Leap Game Studios to talk a bit about the game’s development. Come check it out!
PS4Blog: Thank you for joining us this morning. Can you please help us get started by telling our readers a bit about yourself and your work?
Yes, my name is Luis Wong. I lead Leap Game Studios and was the Executive Producer on Tunche!
PS4B: After launching last year on the Nintendo Switch, Tunche is now ready to go on PlayStation 4. How would you describe the game to someone who’s never heard about it?
Tunche is an homage to classic beat’em ups while having a new setting – the Amazon rainforest – and a diverse cast of characters, while also being inspired by modern brawlers like Devil May Cry and hand-drawn animation.
PS4B: Hat Kid from A Hat in Time is one of the characters you can play as in Tunche. How did this collaboration come to be?
We reached out to Gears for Breakfast, and they liked what we were making, so after some talks, they generously shared with us their beloved character. Something that helped was that one of their team members was also Peruvian!
PS4B: How goes work on the physical version of Tunche on Nintendo Switch and the physical artbook?
It’s going well, and we will soon announce our partner for the physical release.
PS4B: And that’s all the time we have for today. Is there something else you’d like to add before we go?
Thanks for the interest in Tunche. We are very happy about the reception of the game, and we already have several other projects in our pipeline, so expect more news (and games) from us soon!
