After the events of Would you like to run an idol café?, sequel Would you like to run an idol café? 2 from Gamuzumi and Starlight Tree once again places you in the role of Yokoyama Naoya. In the prequel, Naoya had to put his education on hold after failing to enter the university of his choice, so he ended up working at a seaside café. For this sequel, he learns that The Seaside Café is struggling to make ends meet and is at high risk of closing down for good!
Not wanting this to happen, Naoya seeks the help of Ichigo, his childhood friend. As expected for a visual novel like Would you like to run an idol café? 2, Ichigo finds a potential solution: to stay in business, The Seaside Café needs its own idol group! Ichigo ends up recruiting the help of Kuu and Mayuki to form the Sweet Shoreline idol unit. Oh, and neither Kuu nor Mayuki have any experience with dancing or singing. What could possibly go wrong?
Once you complete the game and get through all the branches in the story’s path, you can check out all of the special CG images you saw in the main game by visiting the gallery. There you’ll be able to check all 17 CG images that are used to highlight special moments in Would you like to run an idol café? 2. As for the trophies, this one includes a full list with a Platinum trophy. The list includes 2 Bronze trophies, 1 Silver trophy and 11 Gold trophies, and will require that you complete the game at least five times to get all trophies along the way, as well as the different ending-related trophies. The game is Cross-Buy, so if you have a PS5, you can get two Platinum trophies by playing both the PS4 and PS5 versions of this visual novel.
If you enjoyed the previous game, then you’re going to enjoy Would you like to run an idol café? 2. The game has a bit more fan service and lots of girls on bikinis, which is going to rub some people the wrong way, so you should know what you’re getting into. Would you like to run an idol cafe? 2 is available as a Cross-Buy title, giving you access to the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 copies for its $9.99 asking price, each one with its own trophy list.
