2D platforming sequel Epic Dumpster Bear 2: He Who Bears Wins from Log Games and Equilibrium Systems is ready for you on Nintendo Switch. I got to review the Epic Dumpster Bear prequel JankBrain on PlayStation 4, so I was more than ready to check out what Epic Dumpster Bear 2: He Who Bears Wins had to offer. An evil corporation has destroyed the forest, so it’s now time for the titular Dumpster Bear to take out the trash and destroy everything in his path to get the vengeance he deserves.

You can control your bear with the left analog stick or the D-Pad, jumping and double jumping with the A or B button. If you hug a wall, you will get a chance to wall jump by pressing the A or B buttons. The X and Y buttons can be used for a punch boost that can damage enemies while also helping you get some extra jump length while in mid-air. If you manage to get your hands on a power-up, your bear will be able to shoot out a projectile.

Each of the regular levels will have three red coins for you to collect. If you get all three, you’ll be rewarded with a salmon. Complete a level, and you’ll get another salmon. And if you speedrun a level and complete it within the goal time, you’ll get another salmon! That means that if you want to 100% a game, you’re probably going to have to play each level at least twice so that you can collect all of the salmon before beating the game.

On that note, in Epic Dumpster Bear 2: He Who Bears Wins, you’ll be exploring eight worlds and taking on 53 levels. The many regular coins you collect can be used to unlock bonus levels to play. These coins can also be spent to retry a level after you’re defeated, so that you can have the advantage of doing so with an extra heart, so that you can take an extra hit before being defeated again. Some levels will be boss levels, in which you’ll, for example, battle a deer with a humanoid nature to it, who will shoot energy at you and jump into the air while unleashing a red aura.
