Mastho is Together from eastasiasoft, Ratalaika Games, and Kind Cat Games is a challenging 2D platformer on PlayStation 5. The game places you in the role of a sugar-free marshmallow, who must move from point A to point B to collect a glowing diamond. Grab the diamond, and you’ll be transported to the next stage. The difficulty increases at a steady pace as you move through the 40 levels while running, jumping, wall jumping, dashing in all eight directions, as new gameplay mechanics are introduced every five stages.
You’ll move the marshmallow with the left analog stick or the D-Pad, jump with the X button, wall jump by hugging a wall and then pressing the X button. You can also dash in all eight directions by pressing the D-Pad or the left analog stick in a direction and pressing the Square button. And that’s it! These are the abilities you’re going to be using as you go from level to level.
As mentioned before, new elements are introduced every now and then to keep you on your toes. You’ll start with small platforms, lots of deadly spikes, and checkpoints you can light up by walking past them so that you can respawn there when you die – not if, but when. You’ll then have to deal with green, glowing platforms that will send your marshmallow flying up in the air. And then, you’ll run into cannons that shoot out bullets that will destroy you in a single hit. And once you have to collect spheres to clear barriers out of the way, all while avoiding bullets and making sure you’re not sent flying unto a set of spikes…
Mastho is Together is a cross-buy game, which means you’ll get the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 versions of the game with your purchase. This is good news for trophy hunters since each version has a full trophy list with a Platinum trophy for you to add to your collection. It’s a short list with only one Silver trophy and eleven Gold trophies. The even better news is that, in order to unlock them, all you need to do is complete the first 12 levels out of the 40 levels in total.
Mastho is Together is a fun and challenging 2D platformer with 40 levels to complete. New elements will be introduced at a steady pace, just as you’re getting comfortable with the last hazard thrown into the mix. Mastho is Together is out on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 as a cross-buy title with a low $4.99 price, making it an easy one to recommend.
