A Good Snowman is Hard to Build from Draknek & Friends is a puzzle game about a monster trying to make friends. As the name suggests, the main goal for the game is to build a snowman… and then another one. And after that? Well, you’ll just have to build another one! Just roll around the snowballs you find in each area, and you’ll get to make a ton of new friends during your adventure.

The controls are simple and to the point. You’ll move your monster around with the left analog stick or the D-Pad as you roll around each snowball to try and form a snowman. If you’ve already placed a snowball on top of another one and try to roll it again, the top snowball will fall off. If you need to undo a move, just press the B button. When you’ve made one too many mistakes, you can reset the puzzle by pressing the X button. There’s also the option of using the console’s touchscreen to control everything when playing in Tabletop or Portable Mode.

The puzzles would be very easy if all you had to do was roll around three differently sized snowballs, as is the case for the starting tutorial puzzle. The thing is that each subsequent puzzle will have snow around the snowballs, and as you roll them, they will grow in size. You need a large snowball, a medium snowball, and a small snowball to complete your new snowman friend, so you’ll need to pay attention to each level’s layout to find the right solution for each puzzle.

A Good Snowman is a very chill and relaxing puzzle experience with a minimalist art style in which you’ll help a monster make some new friends by building many snowmen. The difficulty increases at a steady pace, but if you just take a deep breath every now and then and reevaluate what you’re doing, you’ll quickly find the solution for the trickier puzzles, thanks to what you learned from other puzzles. And once you complete the game, you’ll end up with some bonus puzzles to solve! A Good Snowman is Hard to Build is out on Nintendo Switch with a $9.99 price.
