Life is not as easy and simple as it seemed in your childhood.
To survive in a world full of dangers, you must go through the difficult ninja training of frogs using secret techniques created by your ancestors.

Dojoran from Ratalaika Games and Nautlander is a 2D platformer in which you’ll be playing as a frog who is training to become the best ninja ever. Other than that, there isn’t much of a story in Dojoran. Once the opening scene is over, you’ll be drawn right into the action with a tutorial level that will explain to you the basic techniques of controlling the frog. You’ll learn to jump and that the frog can stick to the walls and climb them using this technique. There are also objects that you can use to your advantage. For example, there’s an apple that will allow you to double jump after spitting it out or a fly that will grant you an extra hit point.

The level design is simple, often offering a single path, and each one is full of bottomless pits, spikes, and other hazards. It’s a fun one with a difficulty that ramps up very quickly once you’ve completed the first few levels. You can also try to grab the talismans in each level that acts as the collectible in Dojoran. They’re usually placed in spots that are harder to reach, so you’ll need to plan your actions to grab it and stay alive. You will need to grab some of them since they’re part of the requirement for the Platinum trophy.

As for the trophies, the list is quite short, with 2 Silver trophies, 11 Gold, and then one Platinum. The list requires you to find 150 coins, die 25 times, kill two specific enemy types, complete five levels, and collect some of the talismans. The trophies list is very easy and won’t take you more than 10-15 minutes to complete. The even better news is that this one is a cross-buy release, so you’ll get both the PS4 and the PS5 versions with your purchase, and each game features a separate trophy list, so you can get two Platinum trophies in less than an hour.

Dojoran PS5 Review

All in all, Dojoran is an entertaining 2D platformer and one I can easily recommend to gamers looking for a good challenge on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5. And if you’re a trophy hunter, you can get two Platinum trophies for your efforts at a low price of $4.99.
