[PlayStation 4] Pinkman+ Review

by EdEN, Owner

Pinkman+ is a minimalist-style 2D platformer from Ratalaika Games with 100 levels to take on PlayStation 4. Check our Pinkman+ review!

In minimalist-style 2D platformer Pinkman+ from Ratalaika Games is a fun and challenging experience with 100 levels to complete on PlayStation 4. Your goal is pretty simple: get to the exit. To do this, you will run, jump, and hover as you activate the switch that opens the exit door, activating some checkpoints along the way so that you can quickly respawn when you die. Every time you die, the game’s color palette will switch around, so you could move from a level that has dark blue floors and walls, a light blue background, and yellow hazards to a more psychedelic yellow for the floor and walls, light blue for the background, and dark blue for the hazards to avoid.

While the game has 100 levels for you to play, to get the Platinum trophy, you’ll only need to complete 45 of them to get a new Platinum trophy for your collection. The first trophy will pop when you complete the first level in the game, with the rest of the trophies unlocking as you complete levels three, five, ten, fifteen, twenty, twenty-five, thirty, thirty-five, and forty-five. As you’ve probably guessed by now, that means that there are going to be eleven Gold trophies in your future.

Pinkman+ sets out to give us a 2D minimalist platformer with a good challenge, and it succeeds in having a good difficulty curve that won’t feel overwhelming. New hazards and elements are added at a good pace – pads that will make your character jump very high, missiles that will chase you, extra switches to activate to remove blocks, and more – to keep you on high alert at all times. Pinkman+ is out on PlayStation 4 with a $4.99 price.
