We’ll be working on reviews for 60 Seconds! Reatomized and 60 Parsecs!, so I got in touch with Łukasz “Squallu” Winkel, Producer at Robot Gentleman, to talk a bit about the games. Come check it out!
PS4Blog: Hi! Thank you for joining us this morning. How is everyone doing?
Hello, it’s a pleasure to be here. Thanks for having me! The whole studio is doing surprisingly great if we take into consideration the fact that we changed the workflow due to Covid-19 and everyone had to work remotely since March. It was a bumpy road for the first few weeks, but since we have adapted to the ‘virtual studio’ rules, we are doing great!
PS4B: On that note, let’s get right to it! I previously got a chance to review 60 Seconds! on Nintendo Switch, and you’re now back on Switch and on PlayStation 4 with 60 Seconds! Reatomized. What can we expect from this new version of the game on consoles?
Oh, where should I start? 60 Seconds! Reatomized is a complete remaster of the original 60 Seconds!, but it is really more of a remake. Reatomized went through a complete technical refresh. It offers a much better experience with the game in every possible way.
We have redrawn the entire game in 4K and added a lot of new content. There are new metagame storyline elements that span across many playthroughs and can lead to new endings. For the players who seek more challenges, we have added new Survival Challenges – each one tells a unique short story and puts all your survival skills to the test.
Moreover, we have also added quality of life improvements such as a journal redesign to help players navigate with ease and plan every day in the bunker more efficiently. Also, there’s a completely new and immersive main menu that holds few secrets for the fans of the original game. It is also worth mentioning that we have added Turkish localization, so 60 Seconds! Reatomized is available in 12 languages in total.
Once you go Reatomized, you definitely do not want to go back!
PS4Blog: You’re also releasing 60 Parsecs! on PlayStation 4! Are there any changes when compared to the Nintendo Switch version that released on Nintendo’s console at the end of 2019?
No notable changes, except smaller bug fixes that were already introduced to the Nintendo Switch version. Our main goal was to introduce the game to all PlayStation 4 players who did not have a chance to test their survival skills in 60 Parsecs! It’s worth mentioning that both games are also available for PlayStation 5 users thanks to backwards compatibility.
PS4Blog: With both games now out on Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4, are you perhaps considering a physical release on either console that bundles both games in a single cartridge/disc?
There are no plans of releasing any physical copies or bundles of our current games. Remember, guys and gals: plastic is bad for the environment!
PS4Blog: Once again, thank you for taking the time to do this interview. Would you like to add anything else?*
I guess I can spill a few of our secrets. We are currently working on something entirely different than 60 Seconds! and 60 Parsecs!
It has not been announced yet – a completely secret project, thus my lips have to be sealed, but I can hint that the game will revolve around a ‘family meltdown’ subject… and that is all I can say for now!
Thank you very much for the invitation. On behalf of the entire Robot Gentleman team, we hope that you will have as much fun playing our PlayStation 4 games as we had developing them.
Stay safe, take care of yourself and your friends, and remember: ‘a can of soup a day, keeps the doctor away!’
