We’re working on a review for Cook, Serve, Delicious 3?!, so I got in touch with David Galindo to talk a bit about the game. Come check it out!
PS4Blog: Hi, David! Good to have you back with us. How are you doing today?
I’m doing great! We’re very excited about the release of CSD 3, and the positive response has been quite overwhelming.
PS4B: Cook, Serve, Delicious! 3?! is out now on Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4. What can we expect to see this time around from the third entry in the series?
We’ve really changed up the formula with a whole new flow/dynamic inherent with the food truck aesthetic we’re aiming for. It’s a much faster, sometimes more chaotic game, but the all-new features like autoserve really make for a completely unique experience from the first two games. It’s faster-paced for sure!
PS4B: You mentioned that you’re working on other games in the Cook, Serve, Delicious! which are not direct sequels but different takes on the series. Does that mean you’re looking into taking the series into a new game genre?
We’re definitely looking into new genres. I think the lore of CSD 3 is so vast that we can really do anything we want within this universe, and it’s very exciting. At the same time, there’s still a lot of ideas I have on how to change up the CSD formula, and while we’re not making CSD 4, I still have a lot of ideas on what a follow up to this third entry would look like.
PS4B: Have you considered doing a physical release for Cook, Serve, Delicious! 2, and its sequel on PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch?
Physical is something we indeed explored but has its own set of obstacles that I ultimately decided to pass on to focus on CSD 3. Still, I may come back to it at some time because the idea of a physical version would be super cool to me.
PS4B: And now it’s time for us to go. Would you like to add something else before we go?
Despite this being the third game in the series – and the fact that I’ve worked on this franchise for over eight years now – I’m just hugely excited to do even more in this universe. I never thought I’d be making more CSD type games, but I have so many ideas that it just seems foolish to stop now!
