In We should talk. from Insatiable Cycle and Whitethorn Digital, you will take on a short narrative-driven experience on Nintendo Switch. You will interact as you have conversations, and what you say is important, since you’ll be able to select different words to complete the sentences that you’ll be using. As you can tell from the game’s title – never is the sentence “We should talk.” followed by something good – the combinations of words you use is going to affect the story paths you will end up taking.
It’s a short game that should take you around 20-30 minutes or so to complete for the first time. Given the game’s nature, you’ll want to do more than one run so that you can experience all of the different conversation paths, as well as the nine different endings that We should talk. has to offer. You do need to know that the game is rated M for Mature, which means it’s certainly not for all gamers out there since the interactions you’ll have will certainly show you why the game got that rating in the first place.
You can control the game either with the Nintendo Switch’s touchscreen when playing in Portable or Tabletop Mode – or when enjoying this one on a Nintendo Switch Lite, or you can use the Joy-Con or the Nintendo Switch Pro Controller. If you use a controller, you’ll be selecting your answers with the left analog stick or the D-Pad and by pressing the A button. You can also press left and right to change the part of the sentence you’re on so that you can change the composition of the stuff you’re going to say. The game will show you all of this during a short tutorial segment at the start of your journey.
I won’t say more about We should talk. since I don’t want to spoil your time with the game. If you like short narrative-driven games that offer different branching paths and several endings to obtain, then you really can’t go wrong with this one. We should talk. is out on Nintendo Switch for a low $6.99 asking price, and you should definitely give it a try!
