[PS4Blog.net Interview] PolarityFlow On Cryogear | PS4Blog.net
We’re working on a review for Cryogear, so I got in touch with PolarityFlow to talk a bit about the game. Come check it out!
PS4Blog: Hi! Welcome. Could you please introduce yourself to our readers by telling them a bit about yourself and your work?
Hi Antonio, thank you for the invite. I’m Adrian Zingg, the developer behind Cryogear, Steel Rain, Cyber Complex, and other indie titles by PolarityFlow. The goal behind our games has always been to deliver a unique world with each title for players to experience and dive into with as much depth and replayability as possible. I’ve been playing and developing games since my childhood, and it all started with a Commodore 64, a tape drive, and tons of ideas. In 2010 it became a full-time job, and I still love it, especially the last year, while working on Cryogear as a big fan of the Metroidvania genre-defining originals.
PS4B: Cryogear is out on Nintendo Switch. What can you tell us about it?
Cryogear was our very first Nintendo Switch release, and we have learned a lot from that. It allowed us to work another half-year on Cryogear to further improve its strengths while also improving every single aspect that has been previously criticized so that we could provide an all-new version of Cryogear for all platforms, including new and hidden areas, new counter items to avoid or manipulate obstacles, and more. The newest version of Cryogear will be released for Nintendo Switch, Xbox and Steam on April 17, 2020.
PS4B: Are you currently working on any games for a Nintendo Switch or PlayStation 4 release?
We plan to provide frequent content updates for Cryogear on all platforms, and that will be our focus for 2020. We have already started working on additional end-content for Cryogear in the form of high-level dungeons. We should have more details about the first post-release content update ready to announce soon. We are also planning a PS4/PS5 release of Cryogear, hopefully for 2020 – more details will be announced soon.
Over the past years, we have also worked on an all-new and improved ultimate version of Steel Rain, that will be released for the Nintendo Switch first and maybe for other platforms later in 2021. We hope to finally release our first game for the PlayStation in 2020/2021. You can stay updated on all of this on our website, Twitter, and Discord.
PS4B: And that’s all the time we have for today. Is there something else you’d like to add?
I would like to thank you for this interview! We hope you enjoy your journey through the world of Cryogear. As always, feedback is very welcome. Feel free to share your opinions or suggestions with us on our Discord or your preferred social media platform.
