Octahedron: Transfixed Edition is getting a physical release from Super Rare Games, so I got in touch with Marco Guardia to talk a bit about the game. Come check it out!
PS4Blog: Welcome! Thank you for joining us. Could you please help us get this going by telling our readers a bit about yourself and your work?
Hi. I’m Marco, I’m a game developer, musician and sound engineer from Switzerland, and the creator of Octahedron. You can find out about all the other things I’ve worked on by clicking here.
PS4B: On that note, you released Octahedron: Transfixed Edition on Nintendo Switch last year. What can you tell us about this game? What makes this Nintendo Switch version the “Transfixed Edition”?
Octahedron is a rhythm infused psychedelic action platformer about making your own platforms. The Transfixed Edition added many new achievements, new time trial medals with two tiers per level, as well as two new post-game unlockables.
Eventually I ported the Transfixed Edition content to PC, where I also added an Easy Mode, for the first time. I didn’t have the resources to bring this mode to the digital Switch release at the time. But now it’s also been added to the physical edition too.
PS4B: Octahedron is getting a physical release by way of Super Rare Games. How did this collaboration come to be?
It was John Linneman from Eurogamer/Digital Foundry who originally made the introduction. George (from Super Rare Games) and I started talking and things went pretty quickly from there.
