We’ll be working on a review for Mech Rage, so I got in touch with Drageus Games to talk about the game’s development for Nintendo Switch. Come check it out!
PS4Blog: Hi! Thank you for joining us today. Can you help us get this going by telling our readers a bit about yourself and your work?
Hi! Thank you for the invitation! Drageus Games is a small studio focusing on indie games made in Poland. We make games mainly for Nintendo Switch, Steam and for iOS and Android. We love science fiction and post-apocalyptic settings, and our games, such as Mad Carnage or Mech Rage, fit right into this.
We don’t forget about having fun, especially when with a group of friends, so our portfolio must include good party games for Nintendo Switch. The Fun Box Party offers three mini-games that will make get-togethers very enjoyable.
PS4B: MechRage will be making its way to the Nintendo Switch in a few weeks, right in time for Christmas. How would you describe the game to someone who’s never heard about it?
That is correct! Mech Rage for Nintendo Switch is planned to be on the market right before Christmas on December 23 (and it will be live on Steam on December 14). MechRage is a shooter on a spaceship. You are tasked with defending the spaceship from an alien invasion, and players can use one Mech that can be upgraded. It is a game that requires concentration and strategy, which is perfect for the Christmas break, especially with its three levels of difficulty, which can make the game mega-challenging even for seasoned players.
PS4B: How long did it take to develop the game? Where there any particular hurdles or challenges you had to overcome?
The first concept of the game sprung up a year ago, but the actual work on the game took us about five months.
The concept itself was the most difficult to us. We wanted the game to be original and at the same time to refer to the nostalgic shooters that we played in our childhood. It took us a while to create the graphics, which we’re very proud of. When you play Mech Rage be sure to pay attention to the game’s main gameplay mechanics and system as it is not an easy one. This will end up being a very addictive experience!
PS4B: Will you be developing any additional content for the game to be made available as DLC or are you currently working on a new project?
We have finished work on Mech Rage, but we’re definitely not done with its fun world! We current have no plans for any DLC, but we are not closed to this option. We are an indie game studio, and we work not only for ourselves but most of all for our fans. So if you like this game let us know if you want to see some more of it!
PS4B: And now it’s time for us to go. Is there something else you’d like to add?
Thank you for the conversation! We are pleased to be guests on your website, share with you our work and our passion.
Mech Rage is coming soon, and while you wait you can check out the other games that we have made – Fun Box Party as well as Tactical Mind, a game that is loved by all who enjoy chess. See you around!
