[PS4Blog.net Interview] 13AM Games On Double Cross

by EdEN, Owner

We’ll be working on a review for Double Cross, so I got in touch with 13AM Games to talk about the game and its Nintendo Switch release. Come check it out!

PS4Blog: Good morning! Thank you for joining us today. Could you please introduce yourself to our readers?

Sure! My name is Alex Rushdy, and I’m the creative director on Double Cross! I also directed Runbow and am CEO of 13AM Games.

PS4B: Double Cross is making its way to the Nintendo Switch on January 2019. How would you describe the game to someone who’s never heard about it?

Well, it’s a game where you get to deal with interdimensional hijinks and use a fancy gadget that lets you sling and swing around.

Oh, wait, sorry I think that was the new Spider-Man movie!

You’re an interdimensional patrol agent named Zahra Sinclair tasked with solving an interdimensional crime that puts your whole team at risk! Platform through dimensions, collect clues, unlock new abilities and solve crimes in a colorful adventure.

PS4B: How long did it take to develop the game? Where there any particular challenges you had to overcome?

The game took about a year and a half when all was said and done. I think the main challenge was designing a grappling hook system that allowed full 360-degree analog control but was also simple and easy to use with one joystick and one button. Solving that was a nice eureka moment. The other challenge was fitting together so many strange characters and worlds into one game, but that was also pretty fun to do!

PS4B: How long would it take someone to play the game from start to finish?

Well, there’s a lot to do and find and collect. I’m guessing your first playthrough would probably take around 6-8 hours. If you aim for every achievement and every piece of upgradium it will take a bit longer.

PS4B: Are you considering developing any additional content for the game to be made available either as free or paid DLC?

We don’t have any plans at the moment, but if the game is really successful and there is demand from our fanbase, it’s something we’d love to do! We have some cool ideas, but we just need to make sure we have the time and resources to do it.

PS4B: And now it’s time for us to go. Would you like to add anything else before we end this one?

Thanks for taking the time! If you like Runbow, Double Cross, Pirate Pop or anything else we do check us out on twitter (@13amgames) or my personal twitter (@goji_guy) and since this game is done now, who’s to say we don’t have something new to announce in the coming months? Keep an eye out!
