Inksplosion from Petite Games and Ratalaika is a fast-paced arcade-style very colorful twin-stick shooter game on Nintendo Switch. Learn more about it in our Inkplosion review!

The game’s controls are simple and to the point. This being a twin-stick shooter means you can move your square-ish skull around with the left analog stick while you aim with the right analog stick. You can shoot with the R button, and the L button can be used to slow the time down. As you can see, everything is simple and to the point, which is great since every time you start a level you will have a different gun to use! That’s right, you might start with a laser gun, a rocket gun, a shotgun or something else, and this is also part of the fun.

As you move around the stage, every shot you take and every hit you land will leave behind a colorful blast of paint, and the same will happen with the shots and hits from your opponents. This means that a few seconds into a match the screen will be packed with a lot of color. But you need to keep this from distracting you since a few shots is all it takes for your enemies to completely destroy you and prompt a game over!

The game features Classic Mode, Arena Mode and Hard Mode. At first, only Classic Mode is available for you to play, and you need to reach 100,000 points while playing in said mode to be able to unlock Arena Mode. Same goes for Hard Mode, which is also unlocked when you reach 100,000 points, but this time you need to get to said score while playing the game in Arena Mode.

There are in-game achievements that you can aim to complete during your time with the game. There are thirteen achievements in total, with goals such as killing your first enemy, dying for the first time, reaching level 5 and level 10 in Classic Mode, reaching 25,000, 50,000, 75,000 and 100,000 points in Classic Mode, killing 25,50, 75 and 100 enemies in Arena Mode, and for killing your first enemy in hard mode. You will get most of these naturally as you play the game, and having in-game achievements is always a nice touch since it adds something extra to do during your time with a release.

Inksplosion is a fun twin-stick arcade-style shooter on Nintendo Switch that lures you in with the “one more go” addictive of arcade releases, as you aim to beat your own highscore or to progress further in the game as you learn new tricks and basically get better at it. Be sure to check it out!
