[PS4Blog.net Interview] Mipumi Games On The Lion’s Song

by EdEN, Owner

We’re currently working on a review for The Lion’s Song, so I got in touch with Mipumi Games to talk about the game’s development for it’s Nintendo Switch release.

PS4Blog: Hi! Thank you for joining us today. Could you please get us started by telling our readers a bit about yourself and your work?

Hey! My name is Stefan Srb. I originally created The Lion’s Song, and I am the Creative Director here at Mipumi Games, where our motto is: “Great games don’t have to be big.”

PS4B: The Lion’s Song is now out on Nintendo Switch. How would you describe the game to someone who’s never heard about it?

The Lion’s Song lets you experience the creative and societal struggle of artists and scientists in early 20th century Austria. You play the stories of an aspiring composer, a driven painter, and a determined mathematician. The choices you make throughout one episode will affect the other storylineS and the outcome of the game, connecting the individual stories of The Lion’s Song into one overarching narrative.

PS4B: How long did it take to port the game to Nintendo’s hybrid console? Where there any particular challenge or hurdles you had to overcome during the process?

I took us about six months to port the game to the Nintendo Switch. One challenge that comes to mind was adapting the menu to console controls, but we’re quite happy with the end result.

PS4B: Now that the game is ready to go on Switch, are you currently working on a new project you could share with our readers?

We’re working on our next project already. It’s a narrative-driven game set later in the 20th century. But that’s really all I can say at this point, sorry!

PS4B: And that’s all the time we have for today. Is there something else you’d like to add before we go?

Thank you to all our players out there and stay tuned for our next game!
