We’re working on bringing you a review for FRAMED Collection, so I got in touch with Loveshack Entertainment to talk about the development of this Nintendo Switch release.
PS4Blog; Hi! Could you please get us started by introducing yourself to our readers and telling them a bit about your work?
I’m Joshua Boggs, one of the Directors at Loveshack Entertainment and one of the Designers behind FRAMED, FRAMED 2 and FRAMED Collection.
PS4B: You’re release FRAMED Collection on Nintendo Switch. How would you describe it to someone who’s never heard about it?
FRAMED Collection is a pack of two noir styled puzzle games where you rearrange the panels of a comic book to change the outcome of the story. They are known for their award winning design, stylish art and captivating story.
PS4B: How long did it take to develop the game for Nintendo’s hybrid console? Were there any particular challenges or hurdles you had to overcome?
The entire Switch development took about 6 months. The only real bump we hit was when integrating the two games into one collection, so we needed a lot more UI love than we had on mobile. Our lead Switch developer, Sam Izzo from Horse Drawn Games, took the extra time to make sure that the game was a robust, high quality experience.
PS4B: Now that the collection is out on Switch, what are you working on next?
Hard to say, there was a lot of the FRAMED story that we needed to leave on the cutting room floor, but we also may be ready for some new IP.
PS4B: Thank you for taking the time to do this interview. Is there something else you’d like to add before we go?
It is always difficult putting a project you care about into the world, but when people enjoy what you created, it feels very special. We feel extremely privileged to have such an enthusiastic player base whose feedback has helped improve our creations.
