Minecraft Season 2 Episode 2 – Launch trailer

Giant Consequences is the second episode of Minecraft: Story Mode Season 2. If you want some context on what happened during this season’s first episode, then you can read my review!

Following the previous episode which, as expected, ended on a cliffhanger, this episode starts exactly where the previous one left off. It begins with a truly epic fight in which you’ll need to be alert and do some quick time events to survive through a battle with a difficult and powerful enemy.

Once said enemy is slain, the team ends up gaining access to a new and cool magical item. I won’t tell you what the item does, but I can confirm that it’s an item that I loved back when I played the original Minecraft game with my friends. However, the magical item is cursed, which means that something terrible happens to the city!

As Jesse and the team try to fix everything so that they can go back to before the magical item did its thing, they’ll end up visiting an ice temple in which they’ll have to complete a few challenges, like shooting at targets or figuring out how to reach higher platforms. Like the previous episode, there are still a few points where the game will tell you that the story is changing and you can make a selection that will have an effect on how the rest of the episode, and future episodes, take place.

Overall I liked this episode, which is a problem since it makes me want to play the next episode right now! Of course, Giant Consequences ends on a cliffhanger, and I’m not even sure what direction will be taken by the next episode!

This Minecraft: Story Mode Season 2 review is based on a PlayStation 4 copy provided by Telltale Games.
