[PS4] Linelight Review | PS4Blog.net
Linelight is a unique minimalist puzzler. There isn’t a game like this one on the market, making it a very refreshing release! If you’re into clever and fun puzzle games, then you’re going to have a lot of fun with this one. Come read our Linelight review to learn moreabout this brilliant game!
The goal of the game is simple: you guide a speck of light along beams as you try to complete each area. It all start out pretty simple at first so that you can get the hang of things, but soon lines start to branch out into different paths with puzzles you need to solve.
You will have to activate multi-colored gates to open new paths for your speck of light to cross, and the game’s difficulty slowly ramps up as you progress in the game. This forces you to think before you make your next move… unless you have to move before a hazard touches you!
The best part about the game is that there are no game overs. If you screw up, you simply restart from where you left off with no penalty so that you can relax for a bit as you think of the best solution for each puzzle. There’s a lot of trial and error on this one, but it never becomes frustrating.
The hazards are your enemies and are presented in light form as well. They will patrol along the white lines and try to prevent you from progressing. On top of this, you will need to deal with things such as treadmills, moving platforms and more. There are no timers in the game, so take your time and really think about what you are doing.
Along the way, you can collect the orange orbs. Getting every single one in a chapter nets you a trophy – not to mention there are some in secret paths as well! As long as you search everywhere and find the keys that open the way you’ll find everything you need.
While the puzzles do become more complex as you progress, the graphics and the music make sure to balance your experience – they are quite soothing and relaxing! Your screen will shine with red, green, and purple lights that blend with the white lines and darker backdrop. It’s a beautiful combination of colors that is mesmerizing to look at.
The game has a Platinum trophy. As long as you find all orange orbs, you’ll be on your way to getting this one. And if you miss an orb or two, don’t worry! You can select to replay a world to find what you’re missing! And speaking of replaying a world or two, there’s also hidden stars to find – these will probably be the last ones you get as you unlock your Platinum trophy.
Linelight is a very polished and minimalist puzzle game that is highly addictive and extremely fun. There’s a lot of fun to be had with this game, so I definitely recommend that you buy it today on PS4. I had a blast with Linelight, and I can’t wait to see what My Dog Zorro does next!
