During their E3 press conference, Ubisoft announced Star Trek: Bridge Crew, a new virtual reality release where you’ll get a chance to explore space as a member of the Federation. The game can be enjoyed either as a single player experience as the Captain of the ship or in a multiplayer session as a crew.
The mission: explore a largely uncharted sector of space known as The Trench, in hopes of locating a suitable new home world for the decimated Vulcan populace while coming into direct conflict with the vaunted Klingon Empire. Star Trek: Bridge Crew puts a player and their friends into the heart of a new starship, the U.S.S. Aegis, where every action and decision that is made together will determine the fate of the ship and crew.
The game definitely looks very interesting, and as a fan of the Star Trek franchise I definitely want to see how this game shapes up when its ready for the public.
David Votypka, Sr. Creative Director at Red Storm Entertainment, had this to say:
We feel privileged to work with this amazing brand, especially considering its decorated history and what it has meant to people over the last five decades. This game is particularly exciting because for the first time players will actually get to be a part of a Starfleet crew and work together to operate the ship as they face a variety of missions and challenges.
