PS+ Update for January- PS4 Edition

by the_nmac

Once again two games are coming to PS4. This time around one is an all-time classic and one will be making it’s PS+ debut. Let’s dive in and see whats up for PS+ subscribers in January!

Free on PS+

Grim Fandango Remastered Regular Price: $14.99; Free for PS Plus members

One of the most acclaimed adventure games of all time is now back, better than ever. Grim Fandango’s epic story of four years in the life (or death) of Manny Calavera, travel agent to the dead, has been remastered to look, sound, and control even better than when it won GameSpot’s Game of the Year award upon it’s original launch.

Hardware: Rivals Regular Price: $?; Free for PS Plus members

Plow through a range of unique combat arenas, claiming bounties, completing Challenges and wreaking terrible vengeance upon old adversaries. With multiple battle modes, regular community events and a range of perks to unlock as you progress, there’ll always be a chance to settle the score.

As always, for PS+ users who don’t have a PS4 yet, be sure to login at the PSN Webstore to get the games added to your collection so that you can download them once you do get one.

Also don’t forget that with the PS4 3.0 Firmware update that came out, there is a fancy new PS+ Icon to help you find the PS+ games to download for the month as well as any sales for PS+ subscribers!

A good month for PS4 owners getting the excellent Grim Fandango for free this month. EdEN reviewed it right here and still thought it was a classic! Hardware Rivals is a PS+ debut on the system, so if you enjoy Twisted Metal this may be up your alley.

With PSX having come and gone last month with no major PS+ additions to the lineup, it does make me wonder what we will see in the new year. What are your hopes for PS+ in 2016? What do you think of the titles available this month? What are you still hoping to see? Let us know in the comments below!
