PS+ Update for December- PS4 Edition

by the_nmac

Pretty light month on PS+ for PS4. While I normally enjoy the PS+ offerings for PS4 each month, this is one of the first months I’ve scratched my head as I read about the PS4 games on PS+- Check out what we are getting by clicking after the break.

Free on PS+

Gauntlet: Slayer Edition Regular Price: $24.99; Free for PS Plus members

The classic Gauntlet 4-player co-op action gameplay returns in a completely new experience! Play as one of four distinct heroes in an intense monster filled dungeon brawler with a combination of both uniquely built and randomly generated levels to explore. Battle the endless hordes of foes as you and your friends fight for treasure and glory via both local and online co-op multiplayer. Invade the Darkness!

King’s Quest — Chapter 1: A Knight to Remember Regular Price: $9.99; Free for PS Plus members

King’s Quest is a collection of five different chapter releases, each focusing on an untold tale in Graham’s past. In each chapter, an aging King Graham reflects on his life of adventure with his granddaughter, Gwendolyn.

As always, for PS+ users who don’t have a PS4 yet, be sure to login at the PSN Webstore to get the games added to your collection so that you can download them once you do get one.

Also don’t forget that with the PS4 3.0 Firmware update that came out, there is a fancy new PS+ Icon to help you find the PS+ games to download for the month as well as any sales for PS+ subscribers!

This is the first month without a new debut for the system in a long time. Gauntlet looks like it could be a fun couch co-op game and worth playing for a while, but after receiving The Walking Dead: Season 2 last month, I’m surprised to see King’s Quest here. I actually do want to play King’s Quest as I love adventure games and the revival has my attention, but this seems to be a odd way to push subscribers to buy the remaining episodes. I wonder if there will be a season pass sale to go along with this offering.

Also no cross-buy titles this month. I wonder if we should expect some announcements at PSX next weekend?

What do you think of the titles available this month? What are you still hoping to see? Let us know in the comments below!
