It was another slow week in news, at the time of this podcast’s recording, but luckily we do get to go into some details about what exactly Boost Mode on the PS4 Pro does for non-patched games.
I also get to discuss my time with the Ghost Recon Wildlands closed beta and my initial impressions. I’m definitely interested in seeing how that games shapes up by release.
Did any of you try Wildlands? Have played around with Boost Mode? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below!
Well the beta for 4.5 went out last week and that’s basically what this episode is about. We speculate what kind of loading times we could get off of an external hard drive, using a comparison done for the Xbox One back in 2015. It’s a pretty decent idea of what we could expect.
I haven’t experienced any problems with the beta so far, and hopefully the full release for it will come out soon since I’m interested in the external HDD support. I’m hoping Digital Foundry will do some nice tests that way we get an idea.
What about you? Are you excited for 4.5? Are you in the beta? If so let us know what you think in the comments below!
Well it’s a post Resident Evil 7 world now and everyone still seems to be feeling good from the latest by Capcom. I’ve since finished the game after recording this episode and I had a lot of fun with it. I don’t think I’d have been able to handle it in VR however, since the atmosphere was super creepy and the perspective just adds to that fear factor. I’ll be looking forward to the DLC as it’s released.
Horizon Zero Dawn is just a few weeks away and a ton of outlets got to spend a few hours with the game and share their opinions. I’ve been avoiding it since I want to wait until it’s final release to see anymore of that game. I’m still shopping around for a nice 4K HDR TV to play that game on, but finding a decent one with low enough latency for gaming is a bit tough.
But what about you, have you finished RE7? Are you chomping at the bit for Horizon? Let us know in the comments below!
It’s time for some first person excitement as Resident Evil 7 launches this week. I’m definitely looking forward to getting into the game, though I have a feeling it’s going to take me quite some time to get through it.
Sony is having another sale on the PSN called the ‘Essentials Sale’ and it has some nice games returning to the mix. I think I’ll have to get Titanfall 2 this time around since I keep meaning to get it. I also wish that Just Cause 3 would get a Pro patch since it didn’t run too well on the base console. I really want to just goof around in that game, but I’d prefer a more stable version.
How many of you will be playing RE7? Let us know in the comments below!
Well Nintendo had their Switch conference and it was…interesting. The three of us get into it after going over the other news from this past week. I’ll be very curious to see how it’ll do, and we won’t have to wait long since it launches in March.
Speaking of March, we go over a lot of the upcoming games for the first quarter of this year and it’s a nice looking list. Of course I’m still playing a ton of Battlefield 1 so I’m not sure if anything will dethrone that as my primary multiplayer game in the near future.
What about you? What upcoming games are you looking forward to? Let us know in the comments below!
