The Last of US: Left Behind To Be Available As Standalone Release
Naughty Dog has announced that they will be offering a stand alone digital download for The Last of Us: Left Behind, which used to be available only as Add-On DLC for the full release of The Last Of US.
Arne Meyer from Naughty Dog, had this to say:
If you haven’t had a chance yet to check out The Last of Us, this is a nicely priced gateway to checking out the world and characters so many people (and critics) loved. While part of the story of Left Behind takes place during the main narrative arc of The Last of Us, I think some of the best and most touching moments of any game in recent memory occur during the prequel segments, as we follow Ellie and Riley as they sneak out of boarding school to visit an abandoned mall, getting one final chance to enjoy their friendship before Riley leaves to join the Fireflies.
This standalone release will be available on May 12 and will be offered for $9.99. If you buy The Last of Us: Left Behind, you’ll have the option to upgrade the game to include the single player offline mode that will also include the Treacherous Territories map pack (for an extra $29.99). Since The Last of Us: Left Behind, another option is to upgrade the trial version of the Factions multiplayer mode to the full version (for an extra $9.99). The final option will be an upgrade that includes the full single player mode, the Treacherous Territories map pack, and the full Factions multiplayer mode (for $39.99).
